A full day of courtroom recordings can hold hours of audio and multiple cases. Case Called, new in Asgard, identifies the cases heard that day and lets court teams go directly to the relevant recording segments and save a case in one click.

Why does finding a case in a day's recordings matter?

Every request for a court record starts with finding the right case.

Courtroom recordings are captured by courtroom and by day, and a single day can include multiple cases, with some cases called more than once. The faster a court team can pinpoint where a case begins and ends, the faster the record can move to the people who need it.

Case Called takes the work of finding those moments out of the search process.

What does Case Called do?

Case Called analyzes the day's VoiceCopy™ speech-to-text output to identify the cases heard in the courtroom. For each case it identifies, Case Called returns:

  • Start and end times
  • Case number or numbers
  • Case name
  • Judge, participants, and witnesses
  • A brief summary

The result is a chronological list of the day's cases, with each case connected to the relevant portion of the recording.

From hours of audio to a list of cases.

Case Called organizes a courtroom's day of recordings into case-level segments that are ready to review, play, and save.

How does docket integration make Case Called more valuable?

Case Called identifies cases directly from the recording. Adding your court's docket takes the workflow further.

  • More accurate case information. Case Called can match an identified case to its docket entry, adding context and improving the accuracy of case names, numbers, and participants. The saved case also shows its docket status at a glance.
  • A fully automated workflow. A nightly docket enables automated mode. Case Called runs every night across all courtrooms after the day's recording is complete, with a one-time backfill of existing Asgard recordings. The result is an automated process for organizing recordings into identified, docket-matched cases.

What changes for the court team?

Open the Case Called tab and see the day organized case by case.

  • Every case at a glance. Each case appears in chronological order with its case numbers, case name, and start and end times.
  • Go straight to the moment. If a case is called and later recalled, each calling has its own play button, taking you directly to that portion of the recording.
  • Save in one click. Save Case captures every calling of the case, including recalls, as a Designation named with the case number and case name.
  • Smarter search. Case Called results feed Asgard search, making participant names and case numbers searchable with greater precision than transcript text alone.

How does Case Called fit into the Asgard workflow?

Case Called works within the Asgard workflow your team already uses.

Running Case Called. Manual mode is included with every Asgard deployment, with nothing to set up. Run Case Called on demand for the recording dates you choose. Courts with a nightly docket can request automated mode to run Case Called every night across all courtrooms.

Working with a saved case. Saved cases appear on the Asgard dashboard and can be reopened at any time. Opening a saved case shows only the recording segments associated with that case. From the case view, you can share the case or run VoiceCopy+ for an enhanced transcript.

Keeping notes. The redesigned Case Notes tab shows the case's participants and case information alongside your notes. Information can be edited in place, and edits apply only to that case. Asgard captures a note's timestamp when you start typing.

Adjusting a case. If a case's start or end needs to be changed, boundary editing is available directly in the VoiceCopy tab, with the case highlighted against the full day's recording. Once VoiceCopy+ has been run on a case, its boundaries are locked to preserve the accuracy of the enhanced transcript.

You can still create Designations the traditional way whenever you prefer. Rerunning Case Called does not change a Designation that has already been saved.

Common questions about Case Called

Does Case Called require a docket? No. Case Called identifies cases from the recording with or without a docket. Adding a docket improves the accuracy of case information and enables automated nightly mode.

What does "Not matched" mean? The case was identified from the recording but was not matched to a docket entry. Matching happens case by case, so a single day may include both Matched and Not matched cases. Both are expected results.

Will rerunning Case Called change cases we've already saved? No. Saved Designations are not affected when Case Called runs again.

Why don't I see Case Called in Asgard yet? Case Called is rolling out to Asgard courts, so it may not yet be enabled for your jurisdiction.
